Nice thread. This is one of the first cosmetic repairs for my new 993 as one headlight lens has been changed already and the other is yellowed and dull. It stands out like a sore thumb. Now if I could only find a factory chestnut/aluminum e-brake handle and shifter for less than $800.

Am I right in thinking that a US lens is different from a UK one? if not I might order a pair myself!

In the past, I've ordered precut headlight protection film from Xpel:

Perfect fit, very easy installation and a VERY nice 5 year warranty on the film and the headlight it protects:

Nice to have, especially on Litronics/Xenons.....$$

When my wife's OEM Litronic kit arrives from Sunset, I'll be ordering a set of Xpel film for the headlights.

This is definitely a nice upgrade and you can't beat the cost. Just did mine a couple days ago.

Prshguy, that looks like a standard RS shift ****, pretty sure you can pick them up at Carnewal, Sunset, or FVD.

It's amazing how much this simple and cheap switch freshens your car(as well as improving headlight performance!). I did mine last year; 5 minutes driver's side, 2 hours passenger's side(stupid f"*#$% thing wouldn't lock back in!). Is that not a MY02 shifter between the lenses?

Just ordered a set also. Looks like price creep because of the Euro/dollar exchange. I'll look to see what Sunset has regarding shift *****, was hoping to hear of a cheaper source, not that Sunset isn't usually a good place to buy.

Prshguy, that's a 996 shift **** meant to fit the 2000-2004 cars. Gert at Carnewal changes the leather boot over so it will fit the 993 and sells it for 295 euro. The lousy exchange rate right now really jacks the price up and it's not cheap. All told with shipping and fedex charge for customs it came to $478.71.
I really like the look though and think it dresses up the interior. Suncoast has the 996 version on ebay right now for $350 and it seems like I came across a thread where someone on here retrofitted one...
Ebay item is 110148977153 if you want to check it out.

Okay, thanks. Love the looks but that just not in the budget for the moment.

My headlight gaskets look a bit dried out. Are they easy enough to replace? Thanks.
