Default All This Talk About Oil.....

Lots of opinions out there of late so I thought to post the actual Porsche Approved Oil TSB if only for reference.

That's over a year and a half old. And, as we've seen from oil analysis reports, many of the oils previously recommended have changed critical parts of their formulations recently.

Do you have a more current TSB?

I have one from July 28, 2006 but it's too large for me to post. I'm sure I got it from someone here but don't remember who.

Jason Andreas posted it earlier: http://members.rennlist.com/jandreas...-List-2006.pdf

But it still doesn't address the problem of oil manufacturers "de-contenting" their approved oils.

These oil approvals are becoming sooo ridiculous.
Feu Vert is a sort of ultra low "Midas" style franchise for defavorised rural areas.
The oil recommended is 1.59 euros the liter, why should I pay the Mobil1 5W-40 6 or 7 euros then?
Why don't we organise an RL meet when Feu Vert has a "special" ?

Not that it's the be-all-end-all but if you're concerned about reduced ZDP levels read the SAE paper I linked to HERE
