Which would you get Bridgestone Pole Position 050A or Michelin Pilot Rib?These are the only 2 that Tire Rack have that are the correct size for the car.Anyone have these on there 993?What are your thoughts?

Are you sure you searched correctly? I'm getting 15 different options for this car. I just got the BFG T/A KDW's - just getting mounted now so I can't post an opinion on performance. I'm currently running SO2's

Currently Im running Kumho MX's. I have 9k on them and rears are due to be replaced. They are a great tire and grip just as good than my previous SO3's.
I do have 6 brand new SO3's in the basement that I bought on closeout from Tire Rack this summer. Couldnt resist the price and was satisified with the 2@ SO3 sets I had before the MX's.
The Kumho ECSTA SPT's are highly reviewed both from user and survey standpoints. Price, performance, and value makes it a tough tire to beat, IMHO
Dont know much about the others but hear they are fine.

I would choose neither.
I run Nittos on ALL cars and trucks i.e. purchased in the neighborhood of 15 sets. 0 issues.
For the Porsche, I run their NT555 series with 285/35 and 225/40 specs. Excellent tread wear and excellent wet/dry traction. On the 4x4's, I run their AT Terra Grappler tire and get about 60k miles out of them.
Excellent tire and can be bought at tires.com

IMHO since you have a C2S instead of a C4S you have a lot more flexibility in tire size combinations other than the standard 225/285. Depending on what size rims you have, you could go as wide as 245 up front and 305 in the rear.

Will those sizes fit on 8.5 front and 10 inch BBs in the rear. This is what I really want to do. Would These sizes be much taller though? Are you running the Dach Sport Cats.Did you have a sniff test done?
Thanks

(p.s I need to caveat that I do not have a widebody 993 so have no personal direct experience with fender clearance w/WBs...only with my NB cab)

I am on way way to pick up my newly mounted Technology Turbo twists with 295/30/18 PS2 for the rear of my car. I am moving up from standard 17". Per everything I have read on Rennlist this should not be a problem but I will be happy to let you know once I get them on the car this weekend.

By the way if you are not going to go with TireRack pay attention to what the local shop is ordering. My local tire shop placed 2 orders wrong.. as such ( and I must take some of the blame as I did NOT pay attention) I have a brand new set of 295/35/18 N-3 that are about to go in the classified.

Why are there more options for C2S vs. C4S? Don't they have the same fender dimensions? Doesn't wheel & offset determine what tires fit? I have 315s on my C4S.

Just put 050A's in October haven't done too many miles but very good so far. I am pro Michelin generally but heard that the PS2 is the way to go the Rib's are the red head step children of the PS2's and not particularly anything special. Your other option as mentioned by other to go a size up to 295 in the PS2. My mechanic recommended keeping the size. So far though thumbs on the R050A's.

I thought I was grunning 225/40 but ..as I said earlier- pay attention to what the "expert" is ordering..as such I will be running 235/40/18s. This should be OK (fingers crossed). I plan to get the tires on tonight or tomorrow and will post a follow up.

PS Just saw you have a factory Turbo 2002...so cool. I also have a 2002 a 74Tii in need of some tlc. Great car however.

Tim- On C4s you need to keep the tire dia. in balance because of the 4wd transmission. Per others on the site, if you are way out front-to- back you can stress the 4wd unit (as in fry) and can have handling issues due to the limited slip. At least this is how I understand it. I think if you do a search you will find someone did a % difference between various front and back tire sizes by brand. It was very interesting.
