Question Search but couldn't find : looking for stock 993 braking performance

I did a couple of searches on Rennlist and the web..... anyone have this info handy?

looking for stopping time and distance for standard 993 (carrera 4) braking.

a reference would be great (if possible) !

Whatever it was originally, tire performance has gone up a lot since the mid-90s. I bet you'd cut 10' off what the 60-0 distances were when new.

Yeah, that's a good point Jon. Plus, look for tests on a 2S/4S/TT, otherwise the testing would probably have been done on standard 17" 205- and 225-width tires. Those of us on 18" tires run at least 225 / 265.

Emergency breaking stopping distance (i.e., starting with cold brakes) depends mainly on the friction coefficient between tire and road surface. Therefore the distance can vary greatly, and is not a well defined property of a particular car model.

Ok....I hear all of you.... but does anyone have the "stock" 100-0 or 60-0 times?

Gotta be some scanned road tests around somewhere. This "user" test quotes what I guess are either mfr or magazine test braking distance at 116 ft for a '97 C2 Cab: http://p-car.com/reviews/993vsvett/index.html

This comparison test came up with 120.7ft from 62mph.
