Default Interior opinions/help - Pimp my ride

What is the board's opinion of this interior? It's two-tone grey/blue in a Midnight Blue car. (note the flash makes the grey look lighter and the blue look brighter)

Though mint condition, somehow it just doesn't seem fitting on a Porsche to me. (I've always had solid black)

My initial thoughts are...

Put in a Black wheel - the blue one is just too much
The black mats give a 3-tone look, maybe some matching blue or grey ones?
Swap the shifter and e-brake handle for black?

Those who have the same interior, can you post pics of what you've changed? Please share your thoughts on how to make it look a little more... "sporty"?

I'd start with a black three spoke wheel and see if that is enough.

I would also change that stick and parking brake to black while you're at it!

I think the blue/gray is one of the best color combinations. I wouldn't change a thing.

I would suggest a black wheel, and then possibly getting rid of the blue altogether. You can have you dash recovered-- I think a darker gray leather would look pretty nice over the lighter gray below it. But unfortunately, your a-pillars are blue too, so ditching the blue would be a task. I suppose your rear shelf is probably blue too.

I just had my dash covered in Classic Gray leather in order to change the color and it looks great.

The Blue steering wheel has got to go - ask me how I know... You may also want to change the Shift **** and brake lever to carbon fiber.

Here are a few before and after photos of the process - go to the link below for detailed instructions

See, I knew that black three-spoke would look good.

Nice, Ted.

There will be other mods (ones that matter) as well.

Both of you photchops makes a big difference. Thanks!

Dunno, that wheel is really blue!

Now, who has some black interior parts that they don't need?

You can dye the wheel with SEM ColorCoat, Landau Black is the best match for Porsche black. It comes in a spray can and is easy to do. I dyed the airbag on my 3-spoke wheel and the door panels from black to cashmere and was very pleased with the result and they've held up well. You could also dye the shift ****/boot and the e-brake.

Personally, I think changing out the mats for grey ones with blue lettering would go a long way towards tying everything together. If you were feeling really spunky you could dye the armrests/door handles blue, I think that would pull it even more together.

I can give you more detail on the dying process if you decide you want to give it a try, just drop me a PM.

OK, I'll buy the black wheel too, and I agree- the mats have to match the rugs. A cheap and fast solution to try. Most modern cars seem to be that way. Other attempts at creatively complementary combinations usually make the interior look a little dated.

I've got the same interior color combo and it doesn't bother me at all. I'd like to get a new steering wheel in black or blue as long as it's three spoke. My car has leather so the dash, consoles & panels are what they are. I have matching grey mats as well as blue ones and I dig the grey more.
