I was excited to get my RS steering wheel/shifter earlier this week, you must be going nuts!
The car has dual airbags. I am not sure exactly what needs to be done. I know the door beams, lights, speedo, bumpers, seat belt warning light.....

Nothing to evasive. The guy that is diong it has done 2 or 3 Turbo's. Should not be a problem. The car will have a title and be fully road leagal.

I will take out the GT3 seats, install the buckets, and probably leave the decals. This car will not see a whole lot of drive time. I have been told it is one of the last unmolested low mile ones left. All original paint not even a rock chip..... Probably too nice but I could not pass it up.

I will post some good pictures when she hits the DOT center. It has to sit there for 30 day's after the conversion is done. At least I will be able to visit her.

I just realized it will be more than 2 months before I can take a drive. I need to stop thinking about it.

Joe your car reminds me of my Nov.95 trip to Europe. I saw 2 993RS's in the UK at what was then AFN Chiswick; one midnight blue confort with sport seats(not the true buckets), CS spoilers, and if my memory serves me correctly power windows; the other was a true CS in purple(amernth?). Both were right hand drive. I took about 30 pics of the pair. A few days later I was in Germany and did the factory tour. WOW! I counted about a dozen RS's, ALL CS spec. Then, in the top lot where cars await shipping, a speed yellow GT2. Amazing! Congrats Joe and enjoy the wait.

What a trip, I wish I could go back in time.........I would have love to be around during the Aircooled Era. The way the cars were built in the old days was wonderfull.

I would love a GT2. Maybe next year

Thumbs up

I think Simonrs and RS 197 should just continue their own thread talking to each other and let the rest of us watch / listen in !!!!!

I'll make the popcorn and serve the drinks ....

Anyone else with me on this?

PS: CONGRATS to both of you!! You guys must be very excited (stoked)! Looks like the cars are going to capable RS-enthusiasts! I would love to hear more (as I am sure everyone else on RL...so keep posting when you get your cars!)

Also, RS 197, 1-2 weeks to get the car from the port to a moving vessel. 3 weeks from germany to US. 1-3 days to be released in the US port by customs. How are you importing the car? Show/Display? Racetrack? or Full federalization (if the last...please pm me or feel free to post here)? -- IGNORE, just read the above post. PM me... want to give you some useful info.

Joe, You're the MAN!

Please more pics...
My fantasy, your reality... Not fair!
Between GT2 and RS I think there is no looser.
Please come see socal/OC when you get the car. HWY 1 is beautiful around that time...

Joe,

Really, really, really nice! I agree this one should not see the track, you have plenty of other gems to take there. The silver looks killer, a somewhat rare color for the RS right? Can't wait to see them all this summer.

Beautiful car, thanks for posting.

I'd love to see it in full tilt on the track though...

Joe,
When you get it in, some Portland area 911 owners are going to invite ourselves to your hanger for a look!
