Great looking car Joe. Congratulations! I think I feel similarly excited, as my red 1996 993RS Touring with similar specs arrives next Thursday. Perhaps we can compare notes in due course about the joys of lightweight motoring. Mine was not quite as awkward to source and ship, at least it was in the same country albeit 3,800 kilomtres away on the other side.

1992 black 964RS sold but remembered with great affection
1997 ocean blue Carrera 2S sold but not remembered with much affection at all
1996 red 993TT sold, loved and probably still scaring every passenger
1973 blut orange Carrera RS replica sold, loved and now with a 2.9RSR engine I hear
1998 silver 996 Carrera 3.4 sold and better than most journalists think
and now pending a 1996 993RS which I hope to keep for the forseeable, as I sold the final two to get my hands on it. Hope to goodness I like it because the little orange car was very special.

I have original confort seats and some original buckets with black backs.
The roll cage is the trickest thing I have ever seen. I think it is made by Hi Low.
It bolts in with no cutting or welding. Alluminum that fits really well.

I am glad that this board exsists. No one else in the world would appreciate it.
The car will be street car, it will probably not see the track....
The car has 29,000 KM on it. It has been a show car from day one. I am not sure why all the Tag decals but the car went to many track days as a show car. The guy I bought it from had a small Lotus dealership just outside of Holland. It was his baby. According to Thomas the only reason he sold it was his wife would not ride in it. she thought the wing looked stupid. His collection is at least 20 cars deep. He drove it only two and from promotional events.
It has never been on the track and is as new. The car smells new.
The wait is killing me.
Thanks you guys for all your comments. It helps me cope with my anxiety.

Congrats, post some pictures.
How did you like your 964 RS. I got to drive mine for about 100 km before I left Germany. That car felt very special...... Like the rest of them. I have a problem...
I have not driven this particular RS. I will give you a comparison to my 96 cab when I get it. I just got done with a 5 mile rally around the lake in the 993 Cab. Working on my left foot braking, what a blast. I love them all. If I could only have 9 wives,,,,,

MORE MORE MORE! Seriously Joe that is one nice RS. Please take LOTS of pics when she gets home. I'm wondering if you're going to take it right back to stock(seats, decals) or leave it as is. I think I remember seeing in a previous post that this car was equipped with the optional on RS airbags; what other changes must be made to make it legal in the US; or is this on a show & display paper. I was excited to get my RS steering wheel/shifter earlier this week, you must be going nuts!

The 964RS was great fun, albeit not a highway car for here where the roads are not always very smooth. My mechanic and I felt that Porsche had replaced each spring with a concrete block. I followed the RS one afternoon on a country road after I sold it, and my bilstein equipped 993TT was cruising at 160kph while the 964RS was jumping all over the road. I felt rather smug, until he walloped me at the autokhana later that day. Funny how 260 Porsche horsepower always felt like 300+ of anything Japanese.
I am hoping that the 993RS is a perfect amalgam of the 993 turbo and the 964RS, in that mine packs some 345hp in less than 1300kgs so the power to weight is better than the turbo, with a more compliant suspension set up than the 964RS but still sharp enough to be useful in club events. That last comment may take some eating later, becuase my car has been fiddled with and may well be as stiff as the 964RS. Time will tell and I cant wait to find out.
