Default Amazing personal collection in Raleigh, NC

I friend of my father's recently went to a private party in Raleigh. The host was a gentleman in his late '60s or so who owns a very impressive collection of roughly 40 Porsches spanning nearly every vintage. Some of these cars had nothing more than delivery miles on them!

From the photos, I also made out a Ford GT and a few Ferraris. Unfortunately, the photos were not digital and turned out quite grainy. But I was left salivating. Does anyone know of this collection? I believe the owner is a retired drug company exec.

I'll ask around tomorrow while on a "drive and dine" in Asheville, NC with the PCA.

Sounds good. There were numerous 356 examples and a beautiful yellow '70s Carrera.

FWIW, I thought Bob's cars were in Hickory. How about Mr. Hinkle (don't know his first name) of Henkle-Harris furniture fame?

I've received several PMs that substantiate what I heard from my father. Sounds like a very impressive collection.

Bob Ingram is a genuine nice fellow and car guy. Got to meet him when he was a celebrity judge at FunFest 2004 when he gave my 951 an award. Some of his collection was on display in the "My Garage" exhibit each year, he must have a very impressive collection to see all at once

We will have a lot of Bob's collection on display at next year's Porsche Parade here in Charlotte along with, we hope, several cars from Porsche AG and other collections.

Google search: The Ingram Collection is a museum that houses the private Porsche Motor Cars collection of Bob Ingram, vice chairman of pharmaceuticals at GlaxoSmithKline.

+1

I met Bob at Funfest also in'03 (?) when Trixie was awarded. IT was the first time I had ever shown a car in a show and I won a trophy!! He was the only judge to pose with me and my car for the picture. Super nice guy!!

It's quite a collection. Those cars used to live in the garage below my office at GSK until he moved them out to a private location (i think in Durham if i recall correctly). Bob did used to have a website but i think it's down.

It's Bob Ingrams collection. He just completed a car museum in downtown Durham. His cars are amazing. He is also very nice guy. Road Scholars in Raleigh helps with the maintenane on his vehilces. They have some truly nice cars for sale. His 59 Carrera GT is awesome, as are some the low mileage examples he has found.

The collection is in Durham. There is a PCA fun run scheduled for March 31, leaving the Greensboro area, for a tour.
