Is it possible to install the aftermarket HID's into the OEM fog lights. With the price on these units falling so low I would consider it.

They'd be brighter, but you're still stuck with the fog beam pattern.
The only truly small diameter HID light with a driving beam pattern I know of is the Hella Micro DE: http://www.rallylights.com/hella/Micro_DE.asp

Hey Chuck, not sure if you saw what Mike J did but it looked like a nice upgrade:

Chuck:
I did a H3 HID upgrade for my Techart (real) foglights. I mounted the HID ballasts / ignitors in the aluminum bumper channel. I sacrificed my old, lens pitted stock foglights to pirate the wiring connectors to not mod the car's wiring harness (might not be a big deall to some).
If you were to do this to OEM fogs, you might need to mod the back of the housing to clear the back length of the H3 HID bulb "capsule". It's do-able and I believe someone posted this a couple of years back.
With the HID upgrade, the Techart light is much more usable than what is possible with a regular H3 bulb and the light weight wiring leading out to the foglight / bumper area.
