Default DAS Roll Bar - Damaged in Shipping - Repairable ??

I bought a DAS roll bar off of eBay for my Cab. $450 delivered. It was listed as mint without a scratch and I believe the seller. It was shipped to me in So Cal from Ohio via UPS. The seller had the UPS store professionally package it in a ton of bubble wrap and tape. When I unwrapped it I found two good scraps and a gouge.

I put a claim in with UPS and we'll see how that goes.

Is this something that can be fixed by the same folks that powder coat things? Or, is there another avenue I should look at. TIA

Chuck,

I thought it was bent or something. Once you powdercoat it, you'll never really look in that area. If you really want to get rid of it, I suppose someone could weld in the holes and then grind it down?

BTW, I'm a picky SOB and those marks wouldn't bug me.

Indeed you'll never see those marks. You got it for a very good price, so if I were you I wouldn't feel too bad about spending a bit getting it powdercoated to cover it up.

Many thanks... I feel better about it now. I'll see if UPS wants to help and if not I'll just take care of it.

Chuck,
That's a great price. As Mark said, the damage is in an area where it will be hard to see. Here is one solution:

Nice...Actually they mares are at the top right side and once installed will be very visable. I wish they were on one of the lower legs and I wouldn't worry about it.

Chuck,
I see. Hopefully UPS will come through with some compensation. If visible as you say, the damage would bother me as well.

How often you gonna enter the car from the passenger side?

Hey, if you can get some bucks from UPS, do it. Maybe jugger911 aka our resident UPS specialist can make sure you get taken care of.

Good luck, Chuck.

Chuck, I am going to pull my Das bar out and get it repainted/powdercoated. If you know of any local painters let me know.

Scott,

Are you going with a different color? Why the repaint?

Just tell people you were in a rollover but the only damage was to the rollbar!

Porsche makes awefully tough cars, you know.

Hey Tony,

No, it is just scratched up a bit and I would like it to look new. It is more of a medium black and I want to go with flat black.
