Interesting thread.

In my day job, I am a residential architect working for a major home builder.

As a side-light, I design custom homes in Los Altos Hills, Athertons, and similar areas. Private clients include: SF Giants superstar, Oakland A's team owner, CA State Controller, Chairman of National Semiconductor, Chairman of Excite@Home, amongst many others. I am a licensed engineer and general contractor to boot.

So if someone wants a grand mansion with 10 car garage for your Porsches, you know who to call. :)

No, just a studio with a 10 car garage will do;)

I work for a open wheel racecar chassis manufacturer as program manager for the Champ Car Atlantic series. Have been for the last 6 years. Spent four years prior (same company) as a race mechanic for our Champ Car program, then called Indycar. I specialized in gearbox building, monocoque assembly and sub assembly preparation.

Current duties include providing engineering support to teams both at the track and at the factory. Component failure analysis keeps me busy along with production planning.

Before racing, I spent 7 years as a Biomedical Engineer repairing and testing life support medial equipment.

I'm only a 993 wannabe but I'll throw my 2 cents in:
70 years old, retired on Cape and Naples.

Owned and operated a couple of business during my freakin long career. Made all the mistakes possible, so if you want to know how to run a medium size business...say around 100 employees give or take, I'll be glad to give free advice!!! :)

Good Idea -

I am a Tax Director (Transactional, Excise, Sales, Use and Misc Taxes) at an Oil Refining and Marketing Company. Wife is also a Tax Director at a very Large Telecom company. We live in San Antonio, TX. If you need good advice on transactional tax issues I'd be happy to help - and since I am in industry I cannot charge you for that advice!

Now...all I need is for someone who has decades of experience moding up P-cars to have a really ugly audit....build a little good will....SAWEET!

Surfing Art Guy

1978-2001 as Design Director for Surfing Magazine. The last six-years have had my own business of creating beautiful high-end books on...you guessed it, mostly surfing.

Though I'm currently being lured back full time into the action sports world to run new publishing division.

There are no surf racks on my 993, but my short board will fit through the sun roof.
