Default Free - Cassette storage bin

I replaced the cassette storage bin in my 993 with the RS tray last year and have no intention of ever using it again. I'll gladly ship it out to the first person who responds to this thread. I only ask that you send $5 via PayPal to cover postage.

I was looking at that little bugger tonight... how does one remove it?

Also I think I am missing a rubber tray for the bottom of the well under the hand brake. I think my last 993 had one .. am I halucinating? I can't stand the way "stuff" slides around in there.

Sorry to hijack...

From Carnewal: Tray

You can get the same part through Sunset as well: Part # 964 552 159 00 (Tray), & 964 552 121 00 (Insert).

I bought a bin to replace the lovely, leather covered RATTLY CD case in my car. No regrets at all! Bought it on Ebay ex the UK....new, including the little rubber pad for the inside to stop the dreaded sliding.
Not aware of a rubber mat for under the hand-brake though.

What is a cassette?

Kidding, I'm not so young but I think they are as sought after as an engine tray. I made a good little drink holder to replace my cassette holder.

A better question is why did Porsche put cassette holders in cars with no cassette players?

Feel free to keep your old crap. I'll trade you the cassette holder for the motor mount hardware.

Well, I'll be more than happy to take a cassette holder (assuming one is still available, I see they're in high demand), please let me know the appropriate paypal address.

I was actually looking for a cassette holder since I took out a 10-CD changer and replaced it with an original 1995 stereo. This one has a cassette player. I use my iPod for listening to music, so not having a CD player was less important to me than restoring the interior of my 95 C4.

Time to take out those Def Leopard, Journey, and Foreigner cassette tapes...

Many thanks,
John

Andreas:

Thanks for the link to a tray with mat to replace the cassette storage, I'll get that.

Is there also a rubber mat to fit under the hand brake?

And what is the trick to remove the cass. bin? Hammer?

Thanks
Danny

John,
I'll send an email.

Danny,
Pop the small rubber mat out (behind the cassette holders) and you'll see the mounting screw. Undo and then slide the unit to the rear while lifting slightly from the rear. Be gentle with it.
As far as I know, there is no mat specifically made to rest under the handbrake.

Andreas
