Thanks for posting. I recently saw this on the fabspeed website and was wondering why I didn't know about it. Has anyone installed these fabspeed sport cats? The price does seem reasonable.

Saves over 45lbs 20KG from the rear of all 993 cars.
Holy crap is that right? JUST your cats, with stock exchangers and mufflers still in place and it saves 45lbs?

No, that's simply not correct. Not even close. The factory cat only weighs about 27 lbs, and these sport cats should weigh around 17 lbs. So savings is around 10 lbs, nowhere near 45 lbs. Fabspeed's web site should really be fixed.

Also- the website shows a price of $1,495. Am I correct that the price for us is 10% off of $1,395, i.e. $1,256? If so, I think there'll be some takers.

Not to knock Fabspeed... but... it doesn't inspire much confidence when unrealistic power gains (mufflers), and unrealistic weight savings (cats) are thrown around so loosely. I think the real improvement in sound, and the real weight savings, are enough to sell the products. Might want to be more careful with the claims, the BS detectors are very good around here. People don't like being lied to.

You're right that is a typo on our website regarding the weight savings, we'll get that fixed asap...it's more in the range of 15-20 lbs. And after talking to Joe, the deal on these cats for Rennlisters would end up being $1,300 even. The original post was a little ambiguous regarding price. Rennlisters can get these cats for $1,300...and they're currently in stock in both the Bischoff and Gillet models.

Thanks for the clarification Chase, I figured it was a simple mistake. If the sport cats weigh 17 lbs like Cargraphics do, then the weight savings is really around 10-12 lbs. Probably not 20. At $1300 this is almost tempting.

pcar964- with a claimed +8hp for these, they're probably not too far off. That's exactly what Boris got with his Dach sport cats a few weeks ago.

We're also open to entertaining group buys...and maybe sweeten the deal even more...PM for details or inquiries. I'll throw our cats on the scale and see what it says. Also, I have some stock vs. fabspeed pictures which will be added to my original post soon.

Did someone say GROUP BUY? Now you're speaking our language. I'd like to see this get off the ground.

Sound clips, too! Interested in how much louder these would be with stock mufflers.

Can we see a photo of the cats mounted on a car from the rear? Assuming they are not visible like your bypass pipes are?????

Nice looking cats! With the sensible exhange rate that we are enjoying they are a great price at a bit under £700! That is under half the Cargraphic price!! Good luck with them. If anyone wants to hear cargraphic plus RSRs I have the clips on my putfile site (let me know if any of the links have expired as they are time rated).

Cheers,

David

Just weighed the cats and they came in at 12 lbs. We don't currently have access to a 993 car so I have to see if I can find any photos of the mounted pipes or sound clips in our archives. Not sure if I'll have those however. If there is a serious interest in a group buy we can certainly discuss that further. In the meantime, I'll search the media archives here and see if I can't dig up some more pics/sound clips.
