For some it may be retro, but I think it takes the modern 911 out of the 993's look and makes it look recycled.
Don't flame me it's just my opinion of the photo of the silver 993 with the Fuch's photoshopped in.

I still like my painted (kinda early RS look) CupII's, keeps the modern wheel look with a bit of nostalgia.

The 996 C4 wheel has a raised petal section without the twist:

IMHO, the 996 GT3 wheels remind me the most of Fuchs.

Wow, I can't believe I'm the only person who doesn't like the idea. I actually hate it; looks totally anachronistic. I always considered Fuchs to be one of Porsche's big weaknesses- terrible looking wheels.

That said, I think wheel "A" would look ok as-is. Just not the black. And the modern fuchs interpretation for the CGT is very very cool.

I've always loved Fuchs, but a) they look out of place on the 993, and b) the proposed paint job pictured in the original post does not at all remind me of Fuchs. In my mind, putting newer wheels on an older car works better than older wheels on a newer car. Fuchs look good with the proportions of the tires of the day (way larger sidewalls), and the proportions of the early 911. (They look good on 356s too.) Just MHO.

Not that the Fuchs style is my favorite but the ones on that black car with the orange centers are just about perfect for the idea. I just think the centers need to stick out a little higher like the originals. A nice wide lip on the rims always looks good on 993s IMO.

I for one love the idea. I always thought the original fuchs were such lovely things and good strong wheels. Personally I like very few of the very modern looking wheels that come on the latest models. Part of what made the 993 so attractive (besides the best in air cooled engineering) after the 996 was introduced was the way the 996 lost many of the "porsche" features such as the front fender bulges, wasited sides and round headlites. Porsche found many of those old featues again in the 997 reincarnation.

I would bet that some day the "newest" Porsche wheels will have a retro "fuchs" look.

That's a really ****ty example, but I understand that you're probably trying to insult me so no big deal............By the way sport, here's three much better examples that I based my decision to paint my centers on.

BITCHIN' HUH?

I love Fuchs and love the retro idea but it has to be done right. Personally, I don't like the original Fuchs on the 993, nor do I like twists, cups or any other factory 993 wheel painted in the center. This is what I think looks fantastic, keeping with the softer curves of the 993 yet truly retro inspired:

I am not so sure that I want the graphics or the Duck tail on a 993, But I do like some hint of the past. If we all didn't appreciate it, at least some, we would be 996 owners instead. I still haven't made up my mind, but if I choose to do it, I will post some pictures.

If I could get Fuchs that would fit, I'd do the ducktail and maybe even the Carrera script. Then I'd just need some chrome mirrors and big Cibie driving lights on the hood.

In their life, or on their body ? If the later, I wouldn't even begin to know how to respond other that to say "quit drinking nuclear waste"!
