Default Suspension Tuning in Texas

Anyone know who is the definitive master at setting up a suspension?

I have a Bilstein HD/Euro M030 setup that is too twitchy for my liking. I want to take it to a shop that has a suspension guru...Dallas/FtWorth/San Antonio/Houston...doesn't matter...

This is a street setup, not track.

Thanks in advance!

PS>I'm in Austin and know all the usual suspects here...so no need to list those.

Hi Robert,
Do you know what alignment geometry your car is currently set at?

Chances are, it may just be a matter of aligning your car with less camber or more toe.

My mechanic, Mike Callas of Rennsport in Sealy is a master indeed. Painstaking alignment and corner balance if you decide to go with him prepare to spend the whole day at the shop...

Robert, several of us on this board swear by a mechanic at a local dealership for our 993s and 993tts...

If you are willing to make the drive to Dallas, I am happy to refer you... PM if interested.

Robert:

I'd use either Mayo Performance in the DFW area or Mike Callas in Houston.

I'd second Mayo - IF they have the kinematic toe tool. I'd think they do but I'm not sure.
Ruf did mine.

Its a protractor with a bubble level on it. It's a specially fabricated tool. It looks like it's worth about
$200 but to buy one costs around $8k or so. You bolt it onto the rear suspension while doing the
alignment. Kinematic toe is the amount of toe in the rear suspension gives under side loads.
DO NOT EVER get your 993 aligned by anyone who does not have this tool. It is like not getting
an alignment. If you ever go to a shop and talk about "kinematic toe" and they say "what's that",
run away. As fast as you can. And don't go back. Well not for a 993 alignment anyhow.
I know Ruf has one - I saw it. I'm assuming Mayo has one too but I did not
see one there. I find it hard to believe they don't have one. Mayo is like Porsche heaven. Ruf is
like, well, Ruf heaven. I've been to Ruf and seen a 996 GT3 cup car, C-GT, various Ruf cars, and
Yellowbird (yes, THE Yellowbird) all at one time. OK now I'm rambling. Its late.

Get that suspension done.... you will not regret it.
