Rob,

I believe Greg Fishman had an RSCS tail on his C2S race car. It looked just fine to me.

Awesome project! GL. Did you ever find the wheels you were looking for?

I thought so too but it was a track car, not a nice driver like Rick's. I am one of the guys that has tried to talk him out of it. Rick's car is perfect IMO.

AC993, an interesting project!

I have a genuine un-modified 993CS currently under a cover in my garage, let me know if you need any clarification of some of the finer points of the conversion (pics etc)......looking forward to seeing things progress

Clubsport1,

You could make this real easy on me by just shipping that CS over here to me.... Thanks for the offer, and I may just take you up on some pictures in the near future.

You are going to want to reinforce that middle section. I used some steel plate between the middle and outer sections on the bottom where it can not be seen. Then I drilled and used numerous large pop rivets to hold it together. Otherwise, the way it is designed it will break real soon with any track run off or street scraping....

Funny you mentioned that..I was thinking the same thing regarding the middle section, Bob. Did that DAS show up by any chance?

Looking at the splitter photo and Viper Bob's suggestion to reinforce it.
Mine looks similiar and weak; has a couple of pop rivets each side; maybe I will reinforce it as suggested.
Thanks - I can watch Rob's progress and use it to compare to my own (finished) project.

The MA SHaw piece has 2 10mm bolts/nuts (pre-threaded) PER side to attach the end pieces, not rivets....I will still heed VB's advice and go further with the reinforcement. 993inNC just ordered a one-piece GT-2 splitter from a company out of NJ (it doesnt have 3 connecting pieces, but I dont think it would be any stronger than this one (reinforced). In fact, I would think the reinforcement would make this the stronger piece. Chris does report excellent fitment, however.

I happen to have some plate aluminum, and may make a piece to cross from left to right. It'll act as a strengthener as well as a scrape plate since those bumper protection bars would be useless with the splitter.......go idea guys.
I was thinking the one piece unit would be stronger since it will take a hit as one entire piece as apposed to the center section taking the brunt of it.

Rob,
congrats on a great project. I have a 993 RS project I've been working on for WAY too long. In the picture with the factory side skirts, I see 2 large black plastic pieces. Are those RS pieces that fit into the wheel well & the side skirt? If you don't mind, can you post the part numbers? I have a full factory RS body kit that has NOT been installed yet. However, I am pretty sure I do NOT have those black pieces you have pictured.
Cheers,
Kyle

Kyle, yes they are factory pieces that fit in to the wheel well to "fill the gap" that is created by the skirt being mounted. The part numbers are:

993.504.481.00 (the left is identical to the right and carris the same part number)
