Finn-
Stopped by the body shop today and got some pics of the plastic-welding procedure. As you can see, they added some mesh before the actual plastic welding took place on the rear bumperette holes due to their size. The fronts had already been completed by the time I got there.
They have yet to start on the washer nozzle holes, but will be welding some metal in the holes to properly finish it off, as well as the holes from the basket handle.

Thanks for the pics.
Smart to add the mesh for extra support even though welding is already pretty strong. I can weld, steel, aluminum, brass, stainless steel but have never tried plastic, I've actually seen plastic weld but it always seems interesting and in a ways, little weird...
Thanks agains and keep them coming.

What an awesome thread! Keep the pics coming! I can't believe how quickly you're coming along. I'd have gotten as far as removing the seats by now; projects like this scare the crap out of me.

I can't seem to find the carpet set that replaces the rear seat, deck etc. I looked at the site listed in this thread, but didn't see a 993 application. Can someone steer me in the right direction? Is there really any weight savings over the stock carpet?

Although appbiz does not list a 993 application, they do make a set for the 993. You can contact them and inquire as I did b/c I also did not see the listing on the website. Same goes for the RS door panels. And yes, you will save weight over stock carpet/deck, etc. You would be very suprised how much all that weighs back there.
Car is coming out of the body shop this week...

Things are wrapping up at the body shop this week, and hopefully by Friday I will have some completed body-work pics. The Euro Rear lenses came in today as well:

I for one would love to know how an insurance company would feel about the un-engineered alteration of a factory saftey feature such as those, given their now unproven, less than original lack of crash worthiness. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
But thats probably another issue all together for a different day
