Default Parts Price Comparison

Thanks to Rennlisters, I became aware that Suncoast Porsche had good prices on parts. Needing to replace pads and rotors soon, I launched my own admittedly limited price comparison study to see just how "good" Suncoast's prices are. So, after getting Suncoast's prices for pads and rotors all around as well as the appropriate stretch bolts, etc., I took the parts numbers provided by Suncoast to an Atlanta dealer.

Here are the results:

Suncoast - $765.54 - Shipped to my door
Atlanta Dealer - $1286 - I pick up.

Out of curisouity, I asked the dealer what they would charge to do the brake job...An additional $1210 labor.

Amazing...Guess that's how they pay for those fancy showrooms and the interest on all the Cayenne's sitting out front.

Wow, that's a great deal, thanks for posting. The rotors are OEM, not Zimmerman? I need to do this too, I should get my order in.

Make sure you get the OEM rotors. The Zimmerman rotors rust badly.

I'd also refer to this thread to make sure you have everything you need:

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ht=brake+parts

I would also suggest checking with Sunset Porsche (by telephone) and Pelican Parts (website) for further comparison.

Jeff,

Thanks for the link. I think I have everything I need. My sensors are still good but I'll probably trash them when I do the work. I pay pretty close attention to brakes and such and don't really need sensors to tell me what my eyes can see.

I tried the Pelican website but became frustrated with it and gave up after paging back and forth several times. Where is Sunset Porsche? Somehow I missed the references to them.

Thanks,

Sunset is in Oregon or Washington (I can remember). Although I just ordered some things from them two days ago.

Their deal is: dealer cost +15% + actual shipping. It usually works out very well.

I just ordered new rotors from Sunset yesterday. I've done so for a few years now and can't recommend them enough. Great guys, fast, guaranteed cheap shipping, ORIGINAL rotors with PAINTED hubs at prices almost as low as those godawful zimmermans and other knock offs.

They're great for other parts too.

Can't tell from the Sunset website what they charge, but a comparison of Pelican with autopartsnationwide shows the latter will save you $95 before shipping on a pair of oem front rotors ($118.69 each)

For Sunset, you need to call them. It's a dealership that provides a great parts discount.

There is a nice facility on their website to request email quotes too, very convenient. Agree they are great on service and prices too.

True.

Last week, I simply emailed Jeff Clark ( JeffClark@sunsetimports.com ) and asked for a quote for a number of part numbers, including shipping to MI.

He gets back to you within 24 hours.
