Slapshot says .. struggle ensued and shot fired. I think in today's world .. if someone has a gun on you and wants something of yours .. its probably best for the average guy to give them the keys with a smile. After all we do pay thru the nose for insurance.
Did you all see Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" in your youth? What looked so (science) fictional sure looks sadly, eerily true today.

I feel for the family. I went to college in Boulder and now live in Denver being a native . Pretty peaceful area with college kids most of the time creating the crime. Really makes me think twice about selling my car next time do I let them see my clean garage and how I care for things or do I just meet them at a mall parking lot with the records and let them test drive it.

What a sad and tragic story. Murders/violent deaths like this never allow the soul/spirit to RIP. I pray that they find all these bastards and they are punished so that he can RIP. My deep condolences to his family.

So sad that someone who seems to have been a good soul was taken in violence. The Clockwork Orange analogy is very true. Our thoughts should be with his loved ones.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends, what a terrible waste.
What will pi$$ me off even more is when the local media starts talking about protecting the "rights" of the perps
heavy sigh

Very sad and tragic. It's really a shame that there are people out there like this. My heart goes out to the family.
Just a thought towards safety and prevention...when selling a car, meet the potential buyer in a public place, not at your house. That way they do not know where you live and cannot come back and steal the car or rob your house. A big, well-lit parking lot in a mall is a good choice, as security regularly patrols. Check the potential buyer's ID, write the info down and put it somewhere safe. Also let your SO know where you will be and when to expect you.

That is very sad to read. From now on I will have any potential buyer meet me near the Police Station & Courthouse when selling a car. I NEVER meet people at my home unless I know them just to be on the safe side. My last buyer was a Police officer, a friend of a friend - a former SWAT, and a former client of an SVP at my company. I felt confident having him come to my home but only after knowing who I was dealing with. No car is worth risking your life. Given his two close calls I'm sure he probably appreciated life. I wonder if he was even given the choice or if these bastards planned to off him either way. Very sad story.

Well, they finally caught the suspects... let justice be served.

A very sad story - for both the P-car owner and his family and friends. What's worse is that many in our society seem to think that taking a life for the pettiest of reasons is okay. When are we going to hold people accountable and exact swift and sure punishment - more importantly teach people to respect on another - life is very precious!
