If Mary Lacey is the lead on the Jon Benet investigation, I whole heartedly agree. That investigation was bungled from the start. Hopefully they have learned a few things since then.

realize how fortunate & trusting & very lucky i have been when i have sold my cars private party.

i think a "buddy system" is in order when meeting w/ potential buyers & absolutely no evening meetings. light hours & very public places.

man... i pray for his family & loved ones.

fwiw: i had a 6'2" friend that was taken gun point from an 'atm' in l.a. unfortunately he let the perps take him to several other 'atm's' before they took him into the hills zip-tied his hands & shot him in the head & chest. crime experts say your chance of survival greatly diminishes if you let someone take you to a secondary crime scene.... not that this was necessarly the case. just want to pass that along...

I'm so sorry to hear this and I hope this wasn't just to take the car, please tell me there's more to this story than just trying to steal a car.

my sentiment goes out to his family. may he r.i.p.

whenever i do any transaction with a stranger, buying or selling, i meet them at a bank or somewhere very populated. never do i have strangers come over to my home or workplace nor do i go to theirs.

What a horrible situation. I surely hope they apprehend those SOBs very soon. I am always concerned when selling my car to strangers. The suggestions mentioned above make lots of sense.

The link says they caught one guy and "The robbery went bad, a struggle ensued and Libman was shot once." Wow . . . the want it, you let them have it, along with wallet, watch and keys, no questions asked.

Crazy story Rich!

Jesus... My wife is always nervous about people coming over when I sell a car. I always thought she was a nervous, overprotective Nelly, but after reading this, as usual, she is RIGHT!

I'm just going to keep my 993 and my BMW forever so I don't have to deal with this scary situation.

Thanks for posting it.

I cannot believe this story... I just flew back to Denver tonight and this is the first that I heard of this tragic news. I am so sorry to hear about this and I pray that the murderer is brought to justice. Just awful...
