Lay a sheet of pattern/tracing paper over the lower lid area and reference mark it to the corners: secure with masking tape, and stroke over the logo with the exposed side of a lead pencil. All sharp edges will stand out in sharp relief .... yielding the perfect pattern.
This is for an S, so you need to determine if the S is tacked on a centered Carrera or is added to the width of the entire logo.
Not sure if this is helpful....
With the end of the tape measure hooked onto the edge of the hood
Thanks!
The second picture of the tape measure from the bottom of the edge is very helpful. I am sure the Carrera badge for both the "S" and without are positioned same vertical and simply centered horizontal.
Just wonder of someone else can verify that 3 7/16" is the distance from the bottom of the lid? (without scratching)
After looking at some pictures of the 993 engine lids it appeared that the capital C is centered vertically between the top and bottom edge.
I went to measure and that distance is 8.25". The C of my badge is 1.375" so this confirms that the bottom and top space is equally 3.4375" or 3 7/16" like the image Christian posted.
Now off to place masking tape I go.
