Default Recommendation for air hose interior diameter

I have a 150 psi air compressor that I need to get a longer air hose for. i'm not sure what size interior diameter to get -- 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2"? I'd like to just get the 1/4" since it would be the least expensive, but want to make sure the hose I get would be suitable for my anticipated uses. It would only see light duty around the house/garage -- nailer, impact wrench, filling up tires, etc. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Your best bet would be 3/8 air hose for the home and automotive workshops. I went to 1/2 inch hose on our pro race car guns due to the volume and pressure needed. I would only go to 1/4 inch if you use Urethane. Your best bet is 3/8 hose, 25 feet long. You can go to 50 feet but you will loose some pressure/volume, not a large amount. I would try and stay away from the constant use of 100 foot long, just for the obvious reasons.
