As many on The Board may know, my car suffered a slightly crushed roof from a car lift that malfunctioned. The body shop has procurred a new roof from Germany. The plan was to unfold the original rain gutter standing seam, fit the new roof and carefuly refold the seam flap. There is a lot of concern as to how well this can be done. There was some thought about deleteing the rain gutter ala RUF style. If anyone out there with a RUF and would be so kind to take pictures along where the seam was (from A piller to C piller). It would be nice to know how they 'do-it' and maybe save some pain in the process and end up with an awesome looking car.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

George,
I have little to add... except that a friend of mine once ground off the gutters on his assembled car... he'd grind 2", then weld. Repeat. It took him forever, and he swore he would never do it again.
But it looks so darn cool, I asked my body shop about doing it to Rufus someday (when the lottery hits). He said its a miserable job, and he would charge $2200 fir the metal work alone. Add to that the cost of the headliner R&R and paint. But dang.... it looks GREAT!!!!! Sigh. Someday.
