Default 993 Values Appreciating

I've seen a few posts on CL that claim the values of 993's are going up.

Is this really true? I can't actually think of many contemporary cars whose value is rising, even the exotics (including the Carrera GT) are suffering depreciation.

I've attached one such ad, it's not my car (I just bought a 997S) so this is not a devious way of getting your attention (LOL) just interested. This guy has been trying to sell for months by the way.

I think prices have stabilized on the 993s. I don't know if they're appreciating quite yet. I know they will in the near future. In the meantime, we're just enjoying driving them

It should continue to increase in value.
From $63k?!

"Posts" on CL are actually "ads"

I think he needs a reality check on that asking price, but I hope he gets it! I would however agree with pcar964 that values seem to have stabilized and we are at or very near the bottom. When they do start going up, it probably won't be very quickly and it might not happen for a while yet.

If I sell my 97 993 I'll have to remember to advertise it at the last FULL year of production...

63k for a 50k car is ridiculous.......He'll never get it.

I recognize this car. It was for sale about 8 months ago or more, from
a link in rennlist.

There are no C2S before 1997.
Still, the supply of 993's are pretty slim in Canada, so you can
expect to pay more.

Ha! I wish...there was a time I'd go home and buy the bar for, like, $45.99. Now? The loonie trades at 88 cents + to the dollar. Goddamn you people and your need to buy overpriced condos!

Maybe not appreciating but more slowly depreciating than the next rung up. Look at today's classifieds - a 996 Turbo is only 3K more than a 993 TT - crazy!

All you have to do to 'appreciate' your 993 is to wash it,,,,,,,,I tried to sell mine, believed that I was selling it, washed it before the potential buyer arrived...............called and said 'off the market'......its delicious curves simply continue to be hypnotic......................ah yes.....993! Like the finest wine...every drive is to be savored.........
