Moving on...in the right direction I hope!
Today I sold my 86 911 cab... it makes me a bit sad but I hope it is in good hands. And actually the new owner (lady) intends to bring it back to Germany so this will kind of close the loop.
I am lucky as I still have my beautiful 993 C4S which I just put in my avatar to replace the picture of the departed 911. This picture is fresh as I just took it today while on a drive in the countryside. I am attaching a few more picts trying to show not just the car but also the beautiful landscapes around here in the Sultanate of Oman - a jewel of a country, worth a visit but only in winter unless you enjoy temperatures of more than 100 degF in the shade (it goes above 120 degF in the interior of the country).
May be more changes in the future as I am on the lookout for a 993TT. Friends in the Middle East let me know if you hear of a good one...

Sorry to hear of your loss.
But, great looking 993.
One quick question--
Is it typical to have the European side markers (which I think are awesome), with the US-type front and rear bumpers (with bumperettes)?

In The Air, the car is completely stock: it came as is with the Middle-East specs which I understand are not too different from the European specs.

Beautiful! Congratulations... and enjoy it in good health...
How do you find the air-cooled cars in the heat? I only ask, cos I may decide to take mine out to where the heat's almost (but not quite) as painful...

Urban Alchemist,
My "aircooler" does not mind the heat as long as I am moving. It very rarely goes above midpoint between the 2 midlle temperature markers (I don't know what this represents in degrees C or F). Fortunately here there are not too many traffic jams either.

i really like that color combo...i'm selling mine to make way for a turbo so i think maybe we should get a support group together for the emotional loss while upgrading process.

Those pictures are striking due to the most unusual scenery in your area of the planet. Compared to where I live (very urban), your backgrounds look extremely exotic.

Maximum speed limit is 120 km/h (75 m/h) but 1) radar control is almost exclusively by fixed radar, very visible and predictable and 2) there are plenty of very good road stretches with no radar control and near-zero traffic so its easy to enjoy an occasional open throttle exercise without the risk of harm to one's wallet or anybody's safety.
Still one has to drive pretty defensively if there is any traffic as the standards of looking ahead/anticipating and indicating are pretty low. It is also not unheard off (and this is a euphemism) to encounter the occasional (mostly young) driver who has lost all self control and is for example passing at high speed in a blind curve or passing on the shoulder, at high speed again, if oncoming traffic does not allow the regular type of passing, or doing some other crazy and irresponsible thing... Well you will have guessed that the statistics of accidents and deaths on the road do not look very good here but defensive and sensible driving helps to reduce the risks for oneself - as everywhere else.
Cheers
Chris
P.S. Once on a very straight and empty stretch I have reached 255 km/h (158 m/h) and I was not at the limits of the car yet. It felt very stable and still quite comfortable.
