But a careful perusal of the "spring-like" side electrodes on some (but not all) of the charger cables out there will probably reveal ones that stay in and are already wired up for the connector to your phone/GPS. I ordered some from eBay advertisers (trying two since price was right) for only about $3 with shipping. I suggest that may be sufficient. If anyone wishes email or PM me in a week or so.

 

Folks - this is the best product I found. It is stubby so does not have much lever arm to drop out of the dash. It also does not get as hot with a smart phone on GPS and full volume as the cheap complete cord systems.
