I'm not defending them, but your conversation above left out the previous two sentences which must have gone something like this:

Me: "I'm looking for an xxx:
LAPD: "we have that part, new, in stock"

So you basically questioned if the guy knew what he was doing. I wonder how sarcastic you might be if a caller questioned your expertise in your chosen profession. Their response was rude and definitely not customer-friendly, but I wouldn't condemn them just for that. I get worse at the local jewish deli.

Greg, wrong assumption. LAPD claimed 1 month back they can source brand NEW 993 sport seats, in leather, in any color, for $5k a set (not for 1, but for 2). That's what I questioned... because you can't get them for that price any longer.

Guys at junkyards are not known for their bedside manner.

If they have the part, it's as described and I need it, dealing with a jackass may be worth it. Now if the part is other than described, that's BS.

Dealing with Niello's Porsche parts guys is nearly as fraustrating.

The issues I have run into (and as others have already said) has not been their "bedside" manner or Customer service. It has been their level of knowledge.
They either:
A. Outright lied to me
B. Had no idea what they are talking about.

Either way it's unacceptable

Trouble is, they seem to be willing to do whatever they need to do to get you to part with your money. That appears to be their goal.

Some have had good experiences. I can only share mine.
I can handle rude if they know what they are doing and don't jerk me around.

They were ok when I've called them. Try sourcing a pair of funtioning 993 seat rails with motors. New they're around $900 a pair. LAD had them used for around $120. I was send the wrong ones around three times by other junk yards.
