Horrible news on your car... Great news on your health. It is always somewhat encouraging to know that these cars hold up so well. Here's to hoping the other guy gets his.

Alon,
I'm really sorry to hear about this accident. I'm sorry to see such a great car headed to the scrap bin, and doubly sorry that the SOB at fault got away.
I know we all do everything we can to avoid contact with another car, but there are times where you just have to hit the SOB, to make sure he doesn't simply drive off. Its anti-intuitive to do that, but often its the best response to minimize your damage, and to ensure the guilty party sticks around.
Dang. Sorry.

Man, that made me cry a little. Looks like it was a great example.
As everyone has said, at least you are OK... except for the Blackberry tatoo on your forehead.
Minivans... bah!

I was kind of looking for a twin turbo but this wasn't the way I had hoped things to turn out.

Wow Alon - that's a bummer and glad you're ok. Sad to see a 993 off-roaded in the GTA as they are rare as it is.
On the sunny side - it's nice to hear you have a line on the replacement. Keep us posted and let me know how you make out with the insurance co.
Cheers,
Bob

Alon - what are the chances of buying your 993 back off the insurers for spares? May be worth it in the long run as you can strip and sell on parts for maybe even a profit and offset the pain / extra cost you have / may incurre?
We can do this in the UK as we have first refusal rather than selling to a scrap merchant who would do the same and stip it to sell parts.......or even worse.......make good and sell on to an unsuspecting buyer.
Nice to hear you are getting back in the saddle ASAP.........same as me when my 964 was stolen......the NEED for an aircooled engine behind you is just too much to take.

Damn! Sorry about your car, but who cares as long as you came out relatively OK. That's all that counts.
I did find this quote funny though.
In driving school they teach you to let go the steering wheel when you're about to crash, also its preferable to crash head on as opposed to sideways. You did good on both counts.
Other than that, the car is in perfect shape.
