Fathers 993 went on EBAY
After admiring my 4S, my father decided he had to have a 993 too. We found a nearly new loaded white 4S at the dealership, it was perfect. Only 12,500 miles on it at the time.
After owning the car for a year he has decided to sell it as he feels guilty
putting any miles on it. He is going to look for a car that is easily replaceable and something he can use up.
He paid over $75,000 at the Porsche dealership as it looks as good as the day it left the factory.
Some one is going to score a keeper! EBAY LISTING

Which means that he tired of sweating his a$$ off in the AZ desert with the less-than-impressive 993 AC system!!!
Just joking - from the ebay post its a beautiful car. Your right at the current price its a steal. For those reading my post - Im just joking, I dont know anything about this car or Calvin or Calvins father.
Im just trying to be funny, thinking why anyone would unload this excellent 993! AC is the only thing I can come up with.

Thanks guys,
I have one like it in polar silver. I don't drive it much but the AC seems to be fine. It's not one of the three cars he would choose to drive on a 115F day in rush hour traffic down town. Cayenne's are for that

Beautiful car!
But what is it about dads? My dad bought a beautiful 2000 M Roadster for a song (in Scottsdale, BTW) right after he retired, the pumped-up spiritual successor to the MGBs he had when he was much younger. Eventually he stopped driving it, feeling guilty both about having it at all and about putting miles on it. He finally sold it a couple of months ago, against my hard lobbying to keep it in the family. Drat; that was a very fun car.

very nice
Calvin, Morning.
Checked out your dad's car....very very nice. i had shot you an email but not sure if you got it. Wanted to remind you to remind your dad to set a reserve/minimum. I think your car at anything below 65 to 68 is a steal. if it is truely as flawless and perfect as noted, if the miles are right, i think it would be a mistake to let it go for less. listen, i'd love to have it, but i'd hate to see your dad take a $20k bath in under a year on a car that has a higher value simply because he thought he had no options otherwise. I spoke to two dealers of aircooled that i've bot a few things from; they thought 58, 60 was far too low for that car. do dad a favor and look around a bit more. he's selling it for a reason, and if he needs the cash, no problem. it will sell. but sell it at the right price; earnings potential for all our dads is less now than when they working working all out full time.
that being said, i had a few other questions as well:
1. is there a recent PPI that might have been done on the car?
2. what is the closest authroized porshe dealer that you would take car to get looked at for a PPI?
3. i assume the title is clean, no lien, in his name?
carbon, hard back sports painted custom, no dings, rocks, paint issues.
i hope people bid it up and bid it up well higher than the 58, 60 it sits at now. i think all of us would dream about owning an awsome car cheap. and if any of US actually were the sellers, and as big boyz sold at that price, we'd live with it as big boyz responsible for those decisions. but i would assume you're taking car of dad, and he may not know the market, might not be a rennlister, might not be in tune with the "last of the aircooled" collectibility, and the value of such low miles, unblemished quality.
if he's fully informed, and those are the prices he wants...great. else, i might suggest he's mistakenly undervalued the car. atleast In My Opinion.

IMHO
If you get $60,000 that is a full market price for a '97 C2S for a private seller.Within the last month, I considered a '97 C4S and a "97 C2S that were both in mint condtion with miles under 20k and loaded with options and they were offered to me on a cash and carry basis by a top high dealer for an average price of $58,500 plus shipping.
Hope this helps

Thanks guys, The car was purchased from Scottsdale Porsche and they can do another PPI if interested.
The title is free of leans or damaging history.
If you are in the market for a white/tan 4S, you will not find one nicer.
It took me 3 years to find my silver/black 4S, I know cars like this don't come around often. After being introduced to Gert Carnwal "thank you Rennlist" I'm into it for over 100k spent last year.
This will sell under market value and came from the factory with all the Carnwal goodies!

Yeah, got a fair price for it. A lot more then RPM was offering him.
Small world Luis, that was him. Did you buy your car from Scottsdale Porsche just under 2 years ago? They had a Black GT3 there that I put an offer on and someone else bought before I could close a deal. It was around March of 05.
Anyway, the car is going to a good home. The winning bidder was enjoying his birthday today and watching the auction with some P-car buddies.
It will be sad to see it loaded up on a transport.
