My tiptronic is smarter than me. When I use the shifters, I screw up. Just stomping on the gas pedal makes it behave more aggressively (the celebrated kickdown feature), and it's plenty fast for me. Too many slow natives on the road anyway to make driving like a bat out of hell morally acceptable.

So of course, I dispense with morality on occasion.

Nothing wrong with morality as long as it doesn't cut into your fun!!!!

I like clutch/stick, but I like not having clutch replacement costs better. Knowing how easy it is to miss a shift or abuse a clutch, it's hard for me to buy a used manual.

As Ed Burdell said: You simply can't break a tip with an honest mistake -- it won't let you.

interesting thread .
Ive got a 97 C2S tip. When I first purhased the car I was not very happy with the tip. The guy who installed my hand controls (Conv. Tech in Oakland) kept saying to me that the car would 'learn' my driving style. After multiple drives in the mountains chasing my buddies in E46M3, Z06, C4, S.C. NSX...I began to honestly feel that the car seemed to hold its revs longer and accelearte a little harder. I always drive the car in manual mode, as not to lug the motor.

I'm a bi lateral amputee and why the car has hand controls.

I do miss shifting as sometimes there is nothing like catching that downshift just right (heel/toe), hitting the apex, and then kickin out the hips of the p-car just a little. don't do it much on the street; Lucky there is still the track...even for those of us in auto/trans sports cars.

anyone know of software avail for the tip?

peace
