Was told it had a valve job done at 50+k miles. I'm guessing it's the valve guides.

Actually 27k for a 140k mile car sounds pretty good for the seller to me. I mean, most cars aren't worth didley by then. I mean, let's say you have a perfectly good Subie or Honda, and put 140k miles on it. You bought it for $28k. After 10 years and 140,ooo miles you might get what, 2500-3000 for it, if you are lucky?

So you bought a Pcar new for $80k. You drive it for 140k miles, and sell it for $27k. Not bad. That is a lot of miles for a used car that is still not a cheap car! And, hey, I want the C4S to be worth as much as possible, and I think this is pretty good.

For what it's worth, that dealer has many high end cars (couple of Ferraris, many MBs, Porsches, BMWs, older classics). They have 2 other C2S's in stock including a '98 C2S Black/Black Tiptronic with 20k miles for $58k and a '97 C2S White/Black 6 Speed with 40k miles for $48k.

Judging from these prices, it looks like they know the market for these C2S's ($48k - $58k for lower mileage examples). I'm just not sure why this particular Vesuvio/Black C2S was priced so low at $27k, even with the high miles.

The blk/blk 98 C2S actually listed for $56k with 33k miles. I agree... they do have many high end cars and most of them looks to be pretty clean. So if the carfax, PPI, records all checks out... then they are very competitive.

Yhea email them yesterday the email bounce back so this morning had another rennlister phone them because I had to be out of town all day . Got the low down on it n yes had valve jobdone @48k miles and by the time I talk to the salesguy she is conditionally sold (ppi on Monday ) guy in New Hampshire got his paws on it. IF he does not go for it the sales guy will give me a call . I have NO reservation high mileage because own high mileage cab and never worry about driving because wanting it to be a museum piece .
Dam anyway was already drawing up a roll cage (in my mind) for this S
Oh well.... on to the next fantasy that will turn into reality

Looks like the two recent buyers are from NH... this one and the new owner of Chris Walrod's SY 993.

Went down and took a look at the car. Typically road rash for that amount of miles, touched up scratch on the upper part of the front fender. Broken fog light a little curb rash on one of the wheels. Interior looked great for that amount of miles. Overall the car isn’t bad at all, just needs a little TLC. If the PPI checks out I think for 27k someone got a sweet deal. I asked why it was so cheap, salesman said the owner just wanted to move the car.

Same owner has another 993 S there as well. White and the bonus find for someone on this car is NO SUNROOF!

Yeah, but priced more like the rest of them at $45K. I like how they parked them together in the showroom. People must have been confused at the $18K premium for half the miles and a year newer. I am.
