Default Key Fob Programming Help

So I attempted to program a new fob this weekend. Tried the dance until my dance card was full.
The problem I’m having is that I can not get the warning light between the 3 and 4 o’clock to flash.

1. lock door
2. unlock, lock and unlock (5 sec)
3. open door and turn on ignition
4. wait for warning light to go off
5. turn ignition off and then on
6. NO flashy flashy

Any tips, pointers, clues, suggestions, helpful hints, etc.

Thanks Trinitony.
So do I need to go to Starbucks first or just "close the door leaving it unlock for a few, return to car open door, leave door open, and go straight to turn ignition on"?

Do you remeber how far you turned the key to get the warning light to flash? Was it all the way to point right before the engine turns?

Where you ever able to get it to accept the codes?

Everything but the Starbucks is what got mine to flash. I can consistently get it to flash following those steps. Still haven't got it to accept the code.

Currently guarding my one fob with my life. Plan to go to dealer one day..hopefully not on a flatbed.

I did the same dance. tried 20 times. I could get a signal flash but never get all the way through the code.

Sunset Motors in Portland wanted 30 min. of labor time to program it.

Soon afterwards I was in Bend OR and Carrera Motors said they would be happy to program it for me. No charge. took them five minutes by computer. Don't even need the car handy. That is service. They have a great reputation and deserve it. (this was on a saturday no less! can you imagine a Porsche dealer giving free service on a Sat.!?)

try to shame your local dealer into the same service!

"No charge. took them five minutes by computer."

?????????? Are sure you don't have a 996, as the 993 immobilizer CAN'T be accessed (programmed)
via a tester.

the avatar is accurate. its a 95 C4 cab. When I bought the car the PO only had one key and remote. I purchased a new pair at Sunset.

Carrera Motors took both units. 5 minutes later they both operate the locks, the immobilizer, etc. and have ever since.

sure beat the frustrating procedure described in the manual and even trying some of the great tips on RL.

No PST2 needed for the tech bulletin. How are you Loren? Codes are enterred via ignition key manipulation

George,
You are a fantastic source of such TSB's .... knowing how much I admire the immobilizer system, rather than a note on "Introduction to ...", could you possibly come up with something more along the lines of " Destruction of the Immobilizer System"? I'd even settle for temporary deactivation ....

"No charge. took them five minutes by computer." - stace

Some believe anything!

"Codes are enterred via ignition key manipulation" - geolab

Right on!
