Door Handle Seal DIY
Wanted to share this DIY as my dooor handles seals were looking quite bad. I actually had some small pieces break looose due to their brittleness. There was an article in Excellence 3-4 months ago that detailed the steps on a 944.
Well, the goood news is, the 993 is easier. Basically, remove the interior door panal (see P-car DIY), pull a corner of the weatherseal to access the interior of the door, remove two small screws that hold a black plastic shield over the lock mechanism, remove handle, replace seal and re-assemble.
I'd estimate 1-1/2 hr per door, but I always end up finding things to clean while I'm in there. Part numbers are:
993-537-631-00 @ $7.00 for two/Sunset
993-537-621-00 @ $16.00 for two
Very happy with the results...give it a try

I typically do this as a detailing measure from time to time. It really makes a difference to this area of the car.

Good DIY I do this as well when I do a major detail. What I like best is you can buff out all the fingernail scratches in the door recess with the handle removed.
