Not really my cup of tea but this would be a concern to me if I was to like it.

Zero ^ runs the exact same as it did with the oem wing just looks much better 2 years now and zero issues, just compliments.

I cant find the post, it was 2-3 years ago, but someone researched all the wings for the 993 and made a pretty nice comparison post.
Basically the post said that the standard, ducktail, and RS spoilers dont aid in cooling or downforce between each other. The RSCS tail barely starts to generate appreciable downforce at speed, and you need to jump up to the banana wings/uprights to have a competent, adjustable wing for racing.
I'm sure track guys can answer the question better with more experience, but this is a recap of a post I read when I first joined RL.

Here's 2 CFD videos showing how the air flows over the cars. IIRC, a majority of the air necessary to feed the motor comes from behind the car and "follows" the car as it drives. Again, I dont track and I bet more experienced people can attest to the performance of certain wings for downforce and engine cooling.

I've been skeptical for years even as fast SP cars sprouted aero. Finally gave up and put it on my own autocross Miata. Well... The difference, even at those speed, is most similar to going from street to race tires. in other word, I was pretty well amazed.
Now, it might be completely different with a 993 and ducktail is both much shorter and more in the aerodynamic shadow, I think. The issue, however, is cooling at low speeds. Regular lifting tail lets the hot air escape fairly efficiently. Not sure what would happen with fixed engine cover. I do like the look, thought would like to see it, specifically, on a cab. But I'm not sure that it's worth $1K or so (after painting) to experiment with it. That is to me, personally. Others might and some do feel that it's a good deal for that look.

Thanks for the explanation Nile. I have no skin in the game, I like the duck tail looks a lot, and I already have an RS tail for paint and install some day.
Its interesting how much difference it made. I think it boils down to individual's feelings. Ive seen people on here argue about the whole tranny re-gear thing where some say its like adding 50hp and others say its worthless for everything but a specific track layout. Either way, the ducktail is more for street looks than track aero, and as long as it doesnt significantly affect engine bay temps, its a preference thing.
