PPI on out of state cars...
How do I go about it? I'm in Northern NJ and if the car is in, say, Massachussetts or Illinois or even California, what then? What do you guys do?

Race Car
contact the local area PCA region rep and ask them for a list of good shops for doing PPI's. Put a post here asking RL'rs in that area about shops and to maybe even look at the car for you (although they may not do it for non members...?)

Drifting
When I bought my car from a fellow Rennlister, I did a search here on Rennlist for good PPI shops in the Detriot area and he agreed to drop it off for a PPI at the shop of my choice. Once it got a clean bill of health, it was put in a truck and shipped to me sight unseen. I was not disappointed. The shop guys were able to give me a good idea of the condition of the car and buying from a fellow Rennlister ensured me I got a great car! Thanks again Al Z!

Put a post up on the board here: Need a PPI rec for [insert city here] area. You'll likely get a good recommendation. That's what I did. You may even get a RL'er who volunteers to look at the car for you before you spend money on a ppi. Members on this board always seem willing to take a look at another Porsche! Good luck.
