Default New Windshield

This is one of those weeks that I'm really glad to have over. I received the gift of a stone from a semi on the way home the other night that put a lovely nickle size mark on my windshield that is beginning to spider. The good news is that I just got my new glass coverage policy with a $0 deductible and have a good shop in town that is taking care of it. They have located a new windshield from a regional Porsche dealer and it will be in next week. I'm planning to have them put a new seal in while they are at it. Is there anything special I need to ask them to do that will help elminate the classic 993 windshield rattle? I figure the silver lining is that in a week or so I won't have that annoying sound to listen to.

Print THIS out, give it to the guy doing the install and make sure he follows it to the letter. If at all possible spend the extra $30USD for the Porsche adhesive and paint kit and do the job right. Before the new windshield is installed have them paint the opening with primer otherwise you will have rust bubbles two years from now. If they say no, remind them that removing the windshield and fixing the rust two years from now will cost them an additional $1-2k!

Thank you Jason. Printed and going with me to the shop on Monday. They are a reputable shop here in town and seem open to working with my particular requests so far.
