Default Florida Owners - What Weight Oil do You Use?

I am curious what recommended what weight oil you run in Florida?

I just made a tactical blunder and and grabbed two 5 quart bottles and poured it in. They had gold caps, which was the same color as the 15-50w oil I used last time, but I just checked the bottle and it states 10-30!

I can drain and refill it with the correct oil, but I hate wasting time and $50 in oil isn't exactly trivial, either!

There's no reason to drain the oil, mixing a quart or two of different weight oil (as long as it's a similar formulation) won't hurt anything. I run 15-50 Mobil 1.

Whoops, read that too fast I still don't think you'll have any problems, just keep an eye on the temperature and pressure I'm sure it's fine. Less rotational resistance too

Well, I did all this (and a whole lot more) so I can drive it to Florida from Ohio (about 1000 miles). I could change it now or change it later after I arrive.

Maybe I am being too annal, but I just want to do the right thing.

Marv,

Sorry to say but if I had as dumb *** (Samuel L. Jackson's voice: "I might have a dumb *** but I ain't no numbass!") as you have, I'd drain the 10w-30 and put 15w-50 (or 0w-40) in.

I kid, I kid, you don't have dumb ***, nor I you numbass. That can happen to anyone but I'd still change that oil.

It never gets cold down here, 15-50 M1 is what I use always. I would drain it and put in the
heavier oil, It does get very hot in South Florida and add that to the traffic jams, then 15-50
is what you wished was in it! Chris
