The 993 might be different because the battery isn't oriented straight fore/aft, dunno. The Interstate in my 993 is dandy.

Having just had to deal with a battery replacement and searching the archives I went with the Odessey vs the optima red top.
Although its slightly overkill in terms of capcity and CCA the Odessey P1200T is a perfect fit. One can use the P925T but the smaller size will require to have to go some level of modification for attachment as compared to that of the 1200T with a simple preformed hardware strap that can be purchased.
Whomever mentioned earlier here that the optima and or odessey type batteries have less reserve or no reserve capacity is misinformed.
These batteries can be trickle charged with no issue.
If the car is not a daily driver then you should definitely look into these type of dry cell batteries.
