The K&N Filter that I used was factory coated and seemed very lighty coated with oil.
I think I'll just drive it for several miles and see what happens.
Thanks again.

The MAF sensor is basically a wire sensor that measures the air density somehow, something to do with resistance.

I have heard that you can use a good quality no residue PCB cleaner to get the contaminant off it. I would however use this as a last resort before replacing the MAF sensor. They are quite expenive from what I can remember they are upwards of £170.

Good luck.

Default MAF Sensor

Is this what MAF sensor looks like?
Do I just clean it from there or this thing should be disassemble further??
Can I just use alcohol and swab or other cleaner??
Thanks.

That's it. No need to disassemble it anymore. You can see the filament right there. As Gabi said, use a non residue alcohol based or similar spray cleaner like the one used for electronic equipment. That should remove any gunk or oil that could have deposited on the filament.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of the next best move because I don't know your resources. This is an idle problem that needs a conventional, thorough, systematic diagnostic sequence to eliminate every possible cause, starting with the clues you've given.

Given the engine pulls smoothly at higher RPM and variable throttle positions, the MAF must be working properly. If the engine only pulls smoothly at wide-open throttle (MAP) that would suggest the MAF has failed in some way.

Assuming the engine is strong at variable throttle positions, it's back to diagnosing an idle fault, probably induced when you pulled out the airbox cover and filter to spray that crap into your engine ... : )

If the engine is only strong at WOT, I'd be looking for a nearby Rennlist buddy to swap out your MAF.

Maybe there's K&N filter oil contaminating the MAF element, so I'll wait for Bob or one of the experts to suggest the best way to clean the intake without doing more harm than good ...

Cheers,

I truly appreciate all your help.
The filament does appear to be oily and dirty...I will carefully clean it since it looks delicate.

Thank You all.

I have cleaned the MAF sensor with Contact Cleaner Spray...Put everything back on, Started the car and.... WOW..... the problem is gone. The engine is running great now. No more stalling.

THANK YOU EVERYONE. :-)

Great news! I may take a look at mine someday. Just for clarification can you post another pic of your MAF internals with an arrow or circle pointing to which part you cleaned? Maybe it'd be obvious when I get in there but it's always nice to have the benefit of fresh experience.

It's just the little PCB waffer with the two electrodes that you can see in the middle of the picture that needs cleaning.

Basically I just cleaned everything and paid close attention to the Filament (Yellow Arrow). I used QD Electronic Cleaner with Cotton Swabs.

Leasons learned : 1. Never mess with the intake system unless you are sure what you are doing.
2. What the heck ISV and MAF are.
3. Cleaning ISV and MAF is easy.

Sometimes one incident that seems bad can lead to a good thing. :-)
Thank You All again for helping.

Awesome! Congratulations.

I am glad it helped.

No more foam carb cleaner down the intake from now on...
