I am under the understand that the 95 is the best year, and it doesn't have the CEL issue, it is slower, but not having to worry about the CEL issue is worth it,
What year do you like and why?
I did a search and couldn't find any post like this.
Thanks
Michael

The '98 of course. I heard the factory workers were so saddened by the impending demise of the 993 that they volunteered extra hours of QC for each car. And they saved all the extra HP engines for last.

Seriously, there really is no "best" year - each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Find a great example, buy it and enjoy it. BTW, technically the '95 does have the CEL issue via SAI clogging, but OBD-I doesn't flag it as an error the same way. Thus, no CEL light - but the SAI ports still clog.

What an easy quesiton! There are so many "right" answers.
I agree the '95 is very appealing and makes a strong case against spending more for the more recent years.
For my two cents, if I were to buy another 993 today it would be a wide body sunroof-delete. I'd like to find it as a Turbo, but I'd be almost equally pleased to build a 400hp+ air-cooled naturally aspirated car just to enjoy the fun of a 996/7 GT3 without the sticker puke.
ps. If anyone has or knows of an availabe sunroof-delete widebody 993, please contact me.
