Default Installed Vertex HID's today...WOW

I received my 4300 HID's from Vertex this last week and Scott (SR71BLACKBIRD) came over today to help with the install. He had some tricks that he learned from his install, which made my install very easy. I was very skeptical about this purchase until I saw Scott's and then I was sold. These lights are fantastic and the 4300's are white with no hint of blue which was exactly what I wanted. Can't wait for my first night drive. Thanks again Scott for your help.

It was fun Randy. The second time around was a lot easier. I can't wait to see the grin on your face when you drive them at night; instant daylight !!

Default i did mine sunday

i installed the same kit yesterday and i am very happy as well. i managed to take a quick ride after puting the kids to bed and i must say the difference is substantial.

it took me about 2 hours to do the first light and 10 minutes to do the second. i made a bonehead move...on the first light, i installed the HID bulb in the high beam location and realized what i did and then had to reinstall in the HID in the correct low beam location. i felt like a dufus. everything work great.

i was also a little skeptical about purchasing the kit, but i would recommend it to everyone.

Swaybar, I didn't like the supplied two blue connectors that you were suppose to splice into the brown factory harness wire with the female bullet connector that was orignially attached to the light housing as it was a half *** type of way of connecting. The first time I did it, the lights would sometimes work as the ground connection was so so with the blue connectors; it was really Mickey Mouse. We fabricated for each side a - 2 inch wire interface with a male bullet connector on one end and a female regular connector on the other end; this provided a very solid and nice ground instead of the blue connector splicing into the ground and that made it a true plug and play as we did not have to touch and splice into any of the factory wire harness.

Also 2 pairs of hands are definitely better than one and this time I knew where all the building blocks were not like the first time as I am horrible with electircal building blocks -I WANT MY MOMMY!!

Default i did the same thing...

with the ground wires on both sides. the blue connectors didn't seem like they'd last very long.

Thanks Dennis, You were the one who led us down this slope first! They are a great addition. BTW keep us informed on the Vancouver BBQ.
