Default Wheel size?

I am looking at new wheels for my 1996 993 C4, will the Fiske Profile 10 in 7.5 x 17 and 9x 17 with 205/50zr17 and 255/40zr17 work OK . It is slightly different from stock and just want to make sure it is fine with the allwheel drive system.

I just purchased HRE C20 wheels today for my 96 993 Cab. For the fronts I bought 8x18 with 48mm offset. PS2 tires 225/40-18. For the rear 10x18 with 50mm offset. PS2 tires 265/35-18. The person selling you the rims should be able to help you with sizing. I hope this helps.

The awd system cares about variations in outside diameter, which should be unchanged with the 205/255 tires.

Might I suggest 225's on the front? OE size 205 is a bit skinny. I don't recall the proper profile size for the 225's, but I'll bet someone here knows!

I did a search and it seems that this setup will work OK, it is the original tire size . Looking forward to new Fiskes!

I would go at least 8" and 9", and would rather have 8" and 10". I bought some Kinesis wheels from a friend who had a '95 C4, and his were 8" and 9" with a uniquely wide offset (set up by Wheel Enhancement). They have more offset than my "10 x 18 rears, and barely fit with 275 tires. I am thinking of having the 9" converted to 10" to hold the 275s better.
"7 1/2 is pretty narrow, IMHO

225s do work much better, giving less understeer. You will want them in 45 profile to maintain proper outside radius with the 255s.

Regarding wheel width...7s and 9s were the factory 17" size. Depends on how you intend to use the car when choosing other sizes.
