Default 1997 C4S Price

I am a long time lurker on this site working on adding to my collection. I currently have a 05 CS and I have caught the Porsche bug. I have been going bettween a 993 and 996 but I have always leaned toward the 993's.

I have a chance to buy a 1997 - 993 C4S Basalt Black Tan Interior....Loaded...Full leather, Crest headreast, 18" turbo's... for $46,900.00. It is a one owner car with 46k miles on it. All service records from the dealer.

Here is more info:

Mileage 46,386 mi
Transmission 6-Speed Manual
Exterior Black Metallic
Interior Cashmere/Black-Leather Seats
Engine
Additional
Equipment X19 - Leather Instrument Carrier
X28 - Light Maplewood Steering Wheel
Y07 - Brake/Shifter Lt Wood/Aluminum
Y29 - Aluminum/Chrome X71,X70,X54
P15 - Power Seat Package
982 - Supple Leather Front and Rear
C02 - U.S. Standard/Emissions
445 - Rim Caps (4) w/Porsche Crest
159 - Motor Sound Package
M6C - Porsche Floor Mats-Cashmere
P02 - Technic Package
490 - HI-FI Sound Pkg w/Speakers

Compare this to a 996 C4S with 33k miles for $66,900.00, but it is a CPO. I am thinking that the 97 C4S is worth as much and the 996 C4S.

Oh-yeah, I get a $2k discount as a return customer.
Thanks,

Jim

Take a peek at LeeRs 1997 turbo for $64k. If you are a collector, you will want the ultimate 993.

ca993twin, I have debated the 993 TT option, but it is a bit much for me. I have always like the 993 C4S and the price seems to be good.

I will be doing a PPI test, but all of the service records are available to me.

I would drive both cars and determine which one you enjoy driving and looking at more.
For us that own C4S 993's they are great cars. A friend that moved to a 996 C4S and likes it a lot because is larger inside for passengers. Of course get a knowledgeable outside PPI and perhaps visit to a body shop that knows these cars. Be great if all maintenance records were done well ahead of schedules.

If like the 993 should move quickly. Good luck.

You should pass on the 993 and, uh, send me the number of the seller.

If the car checks out, it is a really good price. If it is a good car, it won't last long. Negotiate the deal and get a PPI real fast.

I'd hold out for a C2S if I were you.

Looks like a very nice car - great colour combo. Go for it. Take the plunge!

My car is very similar to the one your are looking at and I do not have several of the options/upgrades that your car has (Porsche crested seats, aluminum interior parts).

The price you quote is really good.. Jump on it or it will be gone.

Thanks for all of the insight, comments and encouragement. Especically the one were I should take a pass on the deal and then pass on the dealers number...ahem...Dr. No...beers4all...

I did buy the car today. All of the service had been done and up to date and no major issues. I was lucky with this one, people were calling as I was closing the deal; they were pissed too.

This purchase gets me into the Chicago Autobahn county club for a Porsche event in July. Now I can get it out on the track, and maybe I will get some time in the 997TT. It also helps that I am a repeat customer with my CS.

Thanks again.

Ridiculously good price..........you will not regret this. In deference to the TT owners this is my "ultimate 993".
