Might be leaving the 993 fold!
So I pulled the trigger on a new GT3 today (February delivery). I have mixed feelings about this my 993 has been a great car; even better after the lighten flywheel, but I have an internal need for a bit more power and a little more of an updated chassis. I know I started the thread about moving on up, but this is a hard decision. Even at the dealer today 2 sales men were calling customers about my car.

people ask me why I went to an older car and I say "because it's the classic original" then they ask do you like driving it "it's okay" I say. Once you have had GT3 in your blood, there really isn't much to compare it to.

It all comes down to how much you want to spend, you can make any of these cars very fast.
Change is good, It would be nice if we could all keep the cars we've owned before.
The GT3 will keep you very happy for quite a while and I think that moving ahead in technology 10 years
can't be a bad thing at all. Good luck with it, Chris

New immobilizer and all is well. I know that the price is 3 times (well almost) the price of a nice 993 but the idea of more horse power and the excitement of the order from is a nice rush. I need to sell off a few cars, just not enough room and the insurance in So Cal is a bear. The look of the 997 when parked next to the 993 is just about right. I don’t have the budget for an RS so I will be missing the wide rear end but such is life.

John,
Great choice in a new car. For me, the temptation is not so great, but I can sure understand the urge to switch. If it were me, however, I'd wait a bit: a). find out what the price will be on the 997 GT3RS, and what will come on the USA version, and b). wait for a low mileage 1 year old car, and beat some of the depreciation. That's my practical side speaking. Best of luck. There are no wrong choices.
