Default 997 wheels on a 993???

I saw a 993 today with the 997 18" carrera wheels. Sizes are 8" X 18" ET-57 and 11" X 18" ET-51. Does anyone know if the inside of the centers would have to be machined off or if they'll fit without modifying the wheel? It looked great and I'm thinking of going that route...

Mine fit great w/o modification or spacers. See avatar.

I've always like the thick spokes of the 997 wheels on the 993s. Pretty sharp looking.

I actually saw these on a black cab like ours and it looked fantastic. I love the curvature of the spokes on the rear rims, looks very aggressive, yet OEM. Lower profile tires than the factory installed ones might be a better fit for the 993.

I actually like the 19"s better. Has anyone seen them on a 993 or better yet put them on themselves? I'm not talking the lobster claws here either.

LJ,
I have a feeling that the sizes you list ( 8" X 18" ET-57 and 11" X 18" ET-51) are widebody dimensions. When I purchased a new set of 18" turbo twists for my narrow body 993, the offsets were 52mm for the front and 65mm for the rear. Obviously the twists are 10" wide in the rear vs. 11", but I think the offset rather than the width will be problematic.

It may be worth a call to Wheel Enhancement to verify.

Thanks for your input guys. The wheel decision is a tough one. I have a set of 18' twists from a turbo that are mint with only 16k mi but obviously they're not going to work. I thought of getting the replica rears but I don't think the color will match. Still searching for the right fit....
