1306 miles in 2 days (including flight there) in 95 993
So it was a whirlwind 2 days! ON Thursday my flight arrived early (go figure) but I had to wait until 12:30pm local time (mountain time zone) in ABQ for the car to show up, then the test drive, then I called Mike to confirm the car's condition, etc... so it wasn't until 2pm that I was on the road to head back home to chicagoland... (3pm cst on the road).... So the first day I made it to Yukon, OK (just outside of Oklahoma City) and really only made one interested stop at the Caddy ranch of course!
...and on Friday my only other most interesting stop was St. Louis and I almost got in trouble for laying down to get the shot I did (drove off before the officer could catch up to me on foot... doh!)
Here's just a few more shots (btw: today is a beautiful day and Mike has the car at the track for it's first DE day... lol)
(sorry I couldnt figure out how to ROTATE 2 of the pics to properly display here so you gotta turn your head to see)

You were chased because ....... you were laying down to take a photo?
Glad you had a safe trip delivering the car, and thank God for our Homeland Security.
Best wishes

...I happened to be laying down in the middle of the street to take that photo (I looked to make sure there was no traffic at first of course).. but the officer on the staircase saw me and started toward me (the car wasn't supposed to be stopped there either)... so I quickly snapped 2 photos, jumped in the car and drove away... the officer turned around to sit back down on the steps (apparently I wasn't worth chasing any more and the stairs were more appealing to sit down on)

Oh good, you were just laying in the street!
A friend of mine is an art deco building photographer. While taking pictures of the Austin Federal Courthouse, he was appraoched by federal agents. Fortunately he had a business card that proved his intentions or I guess he might be in violation of some post 9/11 - OKC anti terror laws.
Best wishes

Glad to hear the trip went well. I'm kinda bummed I couldn't get a hold of you before you left, as you drove right past my house en route to running from the law on the riverfront! Oh well, maybe next time!

I can assure you that the car won't stay stock for long (he's at the track today)... I'd be surprised if he hasn't already ordered new suspension... and he was shopping for DAS BAR, seats, harnesses, etc.

well, I was in St. Louis around 3pm-ish...
anyway, I was super lucky with beautiful weather the whole way home too! (made the drive more enjoyable)... and even the construction zones weren't too bad (heck, they still allowed 60mph in one zone instead of the 75mph normal limit which was nice compared to our local 45mph const. zones)

How did a New Mexico car get Illinois plates so quickly? It might seem like a dumb question, but in OK we sell our cars with the plates.
BTW, I have a DAS Bar that is powdercoated black that I have never used. I don't have the bolts, but you can buy those anywhere.
