Default Targa toppie no workie!

My targa top and electric side windows refused to work this afternoon after working fine Saturday. I can't imagine both systems are on the same fuse or relay. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? I'm not great with electrical stuff, but I'm capable of swapping relays

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,

LeeH

There's an electrical short in the wiring to the sunshade. Seems that caused fuse #4 to blow. Fuse replaced and it's OK til it gets wet again.

Thanks for the help,

I would be curious what the "wiring to the sunshade" since the controller and all the motors are behind the rear seat and share connectors? This part should NOT be getting wet, in fact nothing electrical on these roofs get wet, if they do you are in real trouble (and believe me I know these Targa tops....) ;-)

Can you clarify?

Cheers,

Mike

I noticed at the same time that the interior light had gone out. Since it's at the front of the windshield header, I assumed it might be part of a wiring harness that had gotten wet. All I know for certain is that the fuse was blown and that water dripped into the car from the windshield header.

Thanks for the quick response,

LeeH

Just conversing with Adrienne about this the other day; she's quite helpful. Fuse #4 is definitely a place to look. Turns out I'm having the same problem but my fuse #4 is fine. The problem is intermittent with my Targa and I believe it is the result of my driver's side window switch preparing to kick the bucket because if I fiddle with it I can get both windows and all aspects of the top to work again. So check your switches too!

One funny thing about fuse#4, I believe she said her's was a 25amp. Mine's a 30amp. What's yours?
