Cool Herr Schnell...

capture the essence, front splitters, side skirts and a different air intake grill. The other biggy, these damn cars have incredible resale value...somewhat like the old 911 Turbo Look cars. The Carrera S isn't any faster...its coefficient of drag is greater, it weighs a bit more.....but its all in the style. It really has it.

If you are in to Club DE, and your club restricts you to adding to your car only what was optional in the US, the Carrera S is a home run. You could have added the Turbo S tail, the GT2 side air intake vents....with the 993 NB, you can add Aero Kit 1A & B with cheesy side skirts.

I have an incline driveway, and when you ae standing on the sidewalk, your head is level with the rear of my cab when in the garage. when I stand there I cant help but be mesmorized with the rear hips of that car, espically when level with it. I only wish porsche would re-introduce the rear light strip to the car, it just compliments the hips.

long_beach_968:

Man O Man if Porsche would of made a 2S or 4S production cab. That would be the ultimate IMHO.

Does anybody agree that the sunroof uncovers a good part of the cabine since the cabine is small?
unlike other cars, with the sunroof open, I really get a treat with the 911.
And unlike my previous conv. M3's (all three M3's got stolen), I really feal safe on the autobahn.

'S' models
1405 / 1536 mm

Length, Width:
All models
length: 4245 mm
width: 1735 mm - 'S' models 1795 mm
Based on these measurements, there is a 2.5" difference for the S models (if my conversion is correct). I don't see why we call the non-S versions "narrow body".

I agree with what Trinitony said... What I will refer to as the "standard body" is anything but narrow. I wonder where the term "narrow body" originated. It's not a great descriptor. The standard body is "fat" or "wide", and the S body is "fattest" or "widest".

Default Touché

At last I feel vindicated...my narrow body is really a wide body, but not as wide as it could be with a Carrera 2 or a Carrera 4S.

Must we all learn new abreviations too????

How about we just realize that NB = Narrower Body, and WB = Wider Body.

Come on...make it easy on us Old Dogs!
