Default Tire Sizes

Im getting ready to purchase some tires for my lowered 993 with MY 02 spokes. Im looking at either the 225/40 x 265/35, or the 235/40 x 275/40 combo. (they dont make a 275/35 in the tire i want) Of course, i would rather run the bigger tires, so anybody running either of these, do they rub? or any fitment issues?
(i could also use the 235 x 265 combo.)

I'm running 285/30's on the rear of mine with MY02 wheels, but my car isn't lowered. I know of another guy who runs 265/35's with lowered suspension and no issues, but I'm not sure about 275's. Looking at my tyres (tires) I think they would need the fenders rolling in order to stop rubbing if I was to lower the car.

I run 225/40x18's and 285/30x18's on a "RS ride height" 993 with no issues.

I just recently put on 275/30-18 and 235/40-18 rear and front respectively and have had no rubbing issues at all. The back definetly can go to 285, but the depending on the front you may want to stick with a 235. If you go to large in the back you'll end up having an understeer issue, which may or may not concern you...
Just as you said - they don't make the tire I wanted in those dimensions, so I tried a Falken RT615, a fairly aggressive tire and have actually been very happy with the grip and ride so far.

Good luck to ya,
Derek

I'm running very aggressive wheel tire combo on my 1997C2S. I had to roll/cut the rear fenders to fit the 315s on the rear. I've also lowered the car with Bilstein HD's/HandR's and 993TT Swaybars. Have not experienced bad understeer even though I'm running a very agressive rear wheel.

Some people have PMd me saying they were running 285/30s on the rear, and i was surprised. I was thinking the 265s or 275s would be tight. I can find a match in either 225/265, or 225/285 in the tires i have to use,. (won a free set of Dunlops, not my first chioce, but for free, i couldnt say no! The Sport Max is rated very high though) So by what im reading the 285s should fit??
