Default Got a LWF and live in NoVA?

I'd like to hear the gear rattle of the LEF before I pull the trigger on a setup for my 993. Anyone in Northern VA want to meet up for a quick listen? I'll be at the Potomac DE at Shenendoah 10-11 June, if that's a convenient meeting spot.

Thanks!
Ed

Ed,

I think David Hicks (dhicks) has one. Good luck!

I might be there on Saturday also at Summit Point. I'll be with the NOVA "Dorki" group.

Its pretty minor but it did scare the heck out of me! When I went for my first test run after finishing my engine rebuilt I was about 5 miles from my house. I parked the car with the engine running and stepped out to listen to the engine. Of course, the engine had about 10 miles on it then so I was paranoid and listening to every little metallic noise. When I listened to the engine from below I heard a very metallic noise...**** I forgot a rod bolt! Maybe its the rings! Timing chains are wrong! Then it occured to me, I jumped in the car and pushed in the clutch...nice and quiet!!

The loudness all depends on how sensitive you are. These cars are noisy and that flat six definitely has its own noise.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike is right, everones threshold for noise is different. Also, to make matters more confusing, some cars I have installed the LWF kit and there was virtually no noise, and others presented some rattle and low R's and idle when in Neutral.

You guys should hear our racecars in Neutral--

Thanks for the info, all - KB, I'll be there both days and often stop by the dorki ghetto. If not there my silver 944 turbo is usually parked near the paddock fence, #42.

I have had my LFW for almost 2 years and I dont even notice "gargle" anymore. If Im listening for it, yes I hear it but its not something that alarms me. Its at acceration points (2-3k RPMS or something like that) and hardly noticeable.
